Supporting Women in Motorsports: The Bluebird Fund

Our Rebelle Team MtnSubi selected The Bluebird Fund as our team non-profit for 2026. Aside from bringing awareness and support to the non-profit, they would be the beneficiary of a sweet donation should our team earn a podium spot this year. Here's a little bit about them!

Women supporting women has always been an important part of the motorsports community, and The Bluebird Fund is a great example of that spirit in action. I've had the opportunity to compete alongside Erin, the founder of the Bluebird Fund, in rally racing, and I've seen firsthand the passion she brings to creating opportunities for women in this sport. Supporting women in motorsports isn't just about getting more women to the starting line—it’s about helping remove some of the financial and other barriers that can make getting there difficult in the first place.

The impact of that support extends far beyond individual competitors. In 2026, the Bluebird Fund awarded grants to Margaret Sharron of Frog Racing and Jennifer Samardak of Fierce Motorsports, two women who are actively creating opportunities for others in motorsports.

Frog Racing used its grant toward the entry fee for Mt. Washington’s Climb to the Clouds, bringing an all-women team consisting of a driver, co-driver, and four crew members to compete. It was the first all-women team in the history of the event, and Climb to the Clouds is the oldest motorsport event in the country. The team went on to break the women’s record previously set in 2021, win Queen of the Mountain, become the fastest Audi on the hill, and finish fourth in rally class.

At Fierce Motorsports, the mission is to decrease the barriers to accessing motorsports and all things automotive. Through its RallyCross RentalBaru program and educational workshops, Fierce provides opportunities ranging from one-on-one DIY support to Girl Scouts car-care badge programs and larger group presentations. Since the RentalBaru program began in 2022, it is expected to have hosted 98 unique drivers by the end of 2026, including 10 women, one of whom is a recipient of a Bluebird Fund grant.

For those of us who have experienced the cost, commitment, and sometimes intimidating barriers involved in motorsports, support like this can be transformative. The Bluebird Fund isn't simply helping individual competitors get to the starting line; it is helping create a motorsports community where more women have the opportunity to get there, too.
